New healthcare facility will provide emergency, surgical and specialist services for visitors, residents, employees and local communities
Red Sea Global (RSG) and Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Services Group (HMG) have opened The Red Sea Hospital, adding a comprehensive medical facility to one of Saudi Arabia’s fastest-growing tourism destinations. The hospital forms part of a wider healthcare network designed to serve not only travelers, but also the people living and working across The Red Sea development and surrounding communities.
The facility is managed and operated by HMG and combines inpatient and outpatient treatment with emergency medicine, specialist clinics, surgical facilities and digital health services. It has been fully licensed by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health and is designed to meet both national and international healthcare standards.
Healthcare becomes part of destination infrastructure
For Red Sea Global, the hospital represents another stage in building the infrastructure required around a tourism destination that has expanded rapidly since receiving its first guests in 2023.
“The opening of The Red Sea Hospital is another important step in delivering on our commitment to build complete destinations where people can visit, live and work with confidence,” said John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global.
Pagano stressed that developing an international destination involves more than hotels and visitor experiences. “A world-class destination is about far more than exceptional resorts and experiences; it requires the infrastructure and services that allow people and communities to thrive.”
The new hospital is intended to become the central clinical facility within Red Sea Health, RSG’s healthcare brand. The wider network is planned to include six pharmacies as well as a dedicated medical emergency service providing rapid response and transfers to the hospital.
HMG takes responsibility for medical operations
The partnership divides responsibilities between RSG’s destination development expertise and HMG’s experience in clinical operations, medical technology and digitally supported healthcare.

According to Al Nassar, the hospital combines HMG’s clinical expertise, medical teams and technology with RSG’s approach to developing an integrated destination.
Growing tourism creates demand for medical services
The opening comes as The Red Sea continues to expand its tourism capacity. Eleven hotels are currently operating at the destination, while another six resorts are scheduled to open on Shura Island in the coming months.
The hospital therefore adds a healthcare component to an increasingly complex tourism infrastructure. Its services are intended for guests as well as employees, residents and surrounding communities, while the emergency network is designed to provide medical response and hospital transfers across the destination.
The project also fits into the broader objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, under which the Kingdom is simultaneously expanding its tourism industry and healthcare infrastructure. For The Red Sea, the new hospital brings the two sectors together in a destination where access to medical care is becoming part of the infrastructure supporting continued tourism growth.
