Hospital in Kerala recognised at ASSOCHAM Health and Wellness Summit for its international patient services and contribution to India’s medical tourism sector
Aster Medcity in Kochi, India, has received the “Excellence in Medical Value Travel & Wellness Tourism” award at the fourth Health and Wellness Summit organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) in New Delhi.
The award recognises the hospital’s work in providing medical services to international patients, including advanced treatment facilities and dedicated support throughout the cross-border patient journey.

Patients from 58 countries
Aster Medcity says it has treated patients from around 58 countries over the past year, underlining the increasingly international profile of the Kochi-based hospital.
Services developed specifically for overseas patients include telemedicine consultations before travelling to India, multilingual assistance, support with insurance procedures and coordination of travel and logistics.
These services are designed to accompany international patients from their initial medical inquiry and treatment planning through their stay in India.
The hospital combines this international patient infrastructure with specialist medical services and advanced medical technology at its multispecialty campus in Kochi.
Medical Value Travel gains importance
The award comes as Medical Value Travel is becoming an increasingly important business segment for Aster.
The healthcare group has reported strong growth in international patient activity, supported by higher patient flows and the development of dedicated teams, digital systems and international market structures.
Kerala is one of the group’s important Medical Value Travel markets, with Kochi benefiting from established healthcare infrastructure and international connectivity.
