The luxury wellness resort combines traditional Thai medicine, preventive health activities and specialist-led movement programmes through December 2026
Thailand’s established wellness destination Chiva-Som Hua Hin is introducing a series of seasonal health and wellbeing activities during the final quarter of 2026, bringing together traditional Thai medicine, physical fitness, mindfulness and preventive health practices. The programme reflects the growing role of holistic wellness experiences within Thailand’s international health tourism sector.
Located on the coast of Hua Hin, the resort has incorporated traditional Thai healing principles into its approach to wellbeing for more than three decades. Its latest programme focuses on the element of Earth, one of the four fundamental elements recognised in traditional Thai medicine, alongside Fire, Wind and Water.
Within this traditional framework, Earth represents the body's physical structure and is associated with strength, stability, posture and resilience. Chiva-Som uses these concepts as a foundation for activities ranging from guided movement and therapeutic exercise to meditation, nutrition education and yoga.
The programme runs from October through December, combining specialist-led sessions with opportunities to experience Thai cultural traditions. Cooler seasonal temperatures in Hua Hin also provide favourable conditions for outdoor activities and coastal relaxation.
Traditional Thai medicine and preventive wellbeing
Traditional Thai medicine forms an important part of Chiva-Som's holistic philosophy. The resort's seasonal activities explore how traditional concepts of physical and mental balance can be incorporated into contemporary wellness routines.
Traditional Thai medicine practitioner and holistic therapist Chananchida Banyeam leads educational sessions examining the four elements and their interpretation in relation to nutrition, lifestyle and daily wellbeing practices.
Additional activities focus on maintaining physical stability and mobility, particularly as people age. The Earth Energy Embrace sessions, scheduled for October 22, November 20 and December 18, introduce participants to traditional approaches to strength, vitality and personal wellbeing.
The programme also includes mindfulness activities and Tibetan singing bowl sessions. These are presented as relaxation and wellness experiences rather than established medical treatments.
Movement programmes support mobility and balance
Physical activity is another central component of the seasonal programme.
Specialised exercises addressing coordination between the lumbar spine and pelvis are designed to improve awareness of posture and movement. The sessions explore the relationship between pelvic positioning, spinal alignment and muscular function.
In November, joint mobility and balance classes incorporate proprioceptive exercises inspired by Ai Chi techniques and the Berg Balance Scale.
These activities aim to strengthen body awareness, coordination, core stability and muscular control. Maintaining these physical capabilities is particularly relevant to healthy ageing and the prevention of mobility-related difficulties.
The resort also offers strength-oriented training sessions intended to develop muscular endurance and functional stability.
International yoga specialist joins November programme
Certified international yoga instructor Adrienne Everett will lead a series of classes at Chiva-Som from November 7 to 9.
Her programme includes Power Sculpt, a full-body strength workout combining controlled resistance exercises with targeted movements, and the Adrienne Method, a dynamic training approach focusing on endurance, concentration and physical resilience.
Gentler sessions include Yoga Stretch, which emphasises flexibility, breathing and relaxation, and Slow Vinyasa Flow, combining measured movement with coordinated breathing.
The different formats accommodate varying levels of physical fitness and experience, allowing participants to select activities according to their individual capabilities.
Nutrition and mental wellbeing complement physical health
Alongside movement-based activities, Chiva-Som incorporates education on nutrition and psychological wellbeing into its seasonal programme.
Mental health and wellbeing specialist Theelon Kurusattra leads a session exploring mindfulness, habitual behaviour and the development of supportive daily routines.
Nutrition specialist and naturopath Keletso Kelosiwang addresses the importance of nutrient-rich food choices and mindful eating, moving beyond calorie counting towards a broader understanding of dietary quality.
These educational activities complement the resort's physical wellness programmes by encouraging participants to consider the relationship between lifestyle, nutrition, emotional wellbeing and long-term health.
Thai cultural traditions enrich the wellness experience
The seasonal programme also introduces international guests to Thailand's cultural heritage.
On November 24, Chiva-Som will celebrate Loy Krathong, the traditional festival associated with gratitude, renewal and the symbolic release of floating offerings.
Guests can participate in cultural activities, observe traditional performances and experience the ceremony of floating decorated krathongs.
Christmas and New Year celebrations will follow in December, with traditional Thai performances and cultural activities accompanying the resort's festive programme.
By combining traditional healing philosophies, structured physical activities and cultural experiences, Chiva-Som illustrates how Thailand's wellness tourism sector continues to position holistic wellbeing as a distinctive element of its international tourism offering.
