PureHealth brings hospitality expertise to Abu Dhabi hospital

A partnership with Erth Hospitality will develop catering, housekeeping and guest services at SEHA Corniche Hospital

PureHealth has partnered with Erth Hospitality to improve non-clinical services at SEHA Corniche Hospital in Abu Dhabi. Announced on 30 September, the agreement covers food and beverage, housekeeping and the experience of patients, families and visitors. It brings the catering division of Erth Abu Dhabi into the hospital environment as PureHealth develops its approach to patient-centred service.

The collaboration draws on Erth’s experience in Emirati hospitality, including local traditions, cultural expectations and culinary services. Its stated objective is to make the hospital setting more welcoming and comfortable, with attention to interactions throughout a patient’s stay. The announcement does not specify an implementation timetable, investment value or measurable service targets.

For the health tourism sector, the agreement offers an example of healthcare providers investing in the wider experience surrounding treatment. Patients travelling for care may also need support with unfamiliar surroundings and the practical needs of accompanying relatives. However, the partners have not announced a dedicated international patient package or linked the agreement to overseas patient volumes.

Service beyond the treatment room

“The future of healthcare extends far beyond clinical outcomes,” said Shaista Asif, Group Chief Executive Officer of PureHealth, in the company’s announcement.

The partnership follows PureHealth’s collaboration with Dorchester Collection Academy in 2025, continuing its use of hospitality expertise to develop patient services. The announced scope concerns the non-clinical environment; it does not establish changes to medical treatment or demonstrate improvements in clinical outcomes.

For hospitals serving travelling patients, the practical relevance lies in how catering, housekeeping and family-facing services fit alongside clinical care. Clear information about those services can help patients and their companions understand what support is available during a stay. The Corniche initiative provides a concrete partnership to watch as its operational details emerge.
